We would love to introduce our judges for 2015. A big thank you to them for their time and effort to judge the EduGrow School & Community Garden Awards. Anna Ainsworth (Eden Gardens), Brenden Moore (Royal Botanical Gardens Community Greening) and Anthea Fawcett (Foodswell) spent the day at Eden Gardens with Duncan Poulson (an EduGrow supporter and judge since 2013) joined in via Skype.
2016 Youth Eco Summit: Healthy People Healthy Planet

YES is an award winning curriculum-based sustainability festival for Stage 2 to 6 students and teachers. This years theme is ‘Healthy People Healthy Planet’ so the event will be featuring school & community projects around:
– Health, well-being and getting active;
– Sport science and nutrition;
– Olympic values;
– Outdoor learning and conservation;
– Sustainable agriculture.
There will be 40+ interactive displays and showcasing schools. This year there will be an ‘Amazing Race’ style challenge for student engagement.
Schools can participate in two ways:
– As a showcasing group sharing your learning and sustainability achievements with others;
– As a participating group attending YES for an inspirational excursion (only $7 per student).

Congratulations to all the participants in the EduGrow School & Community Garden Awards for 2015. We had a great time judging entries from Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland and NSW and are happy to announce the EduGrow Award Winners.
The EduGrow School & Community Garden Awards recognise people and projects who are making a difference to improve student participation and health and wellbeing in inclusive, fun ways at their school. The Awards celebrate the efforts of students, teachers and school communities who create engaging food gardens and outdoor learning places and activities in them.

The EduGrow School & Community Garden Awards are up and running. We are really excited to see what is growing out there. We have had schools register their interest in the Awards from the Northern Territory, Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. Entries are due two weeks from now on the 25th November by 5pm.
